Fiduciary Analyst

Overview:

As a Fiduciary Analyst for Anchor 3(16), your responsibilities will include various administrative fiduciary functions for an assigned book of business. The caseload will be comprised of plans of various sizes and complexities but be commensurate based on experience. This position works as a member of a team with a dedicated Manager.

Responsibilities:

Review census data to determine eligibility for participation in the company-sponsored retirement plan
Provide enrollment materials to newly eligible participants in a timely fashion in advance of Entry Date
Review payroll data to ensure 401(k) salary deferral modifications are updated and loan repayments commence timely
Assist with the monitoring and tracking of automatic enrollment and escalation
Ensure timely remittance of payroll contributions; submit payroll contribution files to vendor
Calculate or confirm employer matching contributions on a pay period basis in accordance with plan document provisions
Review IRS Form 5500 and related Schedules for accuracy and address with TPA counterpart
Support auditors for large plan audits by gathering requested reports and transaction detail
Understand and interpret defined contribution plan documents
Review distribution and loan requests to determine if in good order or if additional information is needed
Communicate directly with plan participants regarding loan and distribution options, requests for additional information, and approval/denial of distribution requests
Evaluate participant’s eligibility for financial hardship distribution
Authorize termination/retirement/hardship distributions
Monitor terminated participant accounts, provide notification, and ensure forced distributions are processed annually
Ensure applicable notices are provided to eligible participants timely in accordance with IRS/DOL regulations (including items such as the Summary Plan Description or Summary of Material Modifications, Summary Annual Report, Qualified Default Investment Alternative Notice, Fee Disclosure Notice, Safe Harbor or Automatic Enrollment Notice, etc.)
Research plan-related issues and corrective measures
Work directly with Plan Sponsors, TPAs, financial advisors, and other team members on a daily basis to ensure timely completion of deadlines

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in math, finance, or related field preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience (current) in the retirement plan industry is required
Background knowledge and understanding of qualified defined contribution plan administration and responsibilities, including ERISA and IRS/DOL rules and regulations
Ability to read and interpret Plan Documents as it relates to eligibility determination, contribution requirements, distribution options, etc.
Familiarity with the recordkeeping platforms for major providers in the industry
ASPPA credentials preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and well-organized
Ability to work and thrive in a team environment approach with an eagerness to learn

Retirement Plan Analyst – Defined Contribution Plans

Overview:

As a Retirement Plan Analyst for M2B, your responsibilities will include all aspects of plan administration for an assigned book of business. The caseload will be comprised of plans of various sizes and complexities but be commensurate based on experience. This position works as a member of a team with a dedicated Senior Consultant.

Responsibilities:

Review and scrub census data for accuracy and missing information
Perform all applicable compliance testing (including ADP, ACP, 410(b), 401(a)(4), top-heavy) and administer retirement plans in accordance with ERISA
Address testing issues and recommend possible plan design changes
Prepare contribution projections, calculations, and non-discrimination testing – including allocation of employer contributions/forfeitures based on plan provisions and/or testing requirements
Calculate corrective distributions for testing failures, including associated earnings, along with Form 5330
Calculate lost earnings on late deposits of 401(k) deferrals and/or loan repayments
Navigate various recordkeeper website to access reports and review transactions
Reconcile plan- and participant-level transactions on an accrued basis
Produce valuation reports and review results for accuracy before passing to Management for final review
Prepare IRS Form 5500 and related Schedules using appropriate Government Forms software
Support auditors for large plan audits by gathering requested reports and transaction detail
Understand and interpret defined contribution plan documents
Review distribution and loan requests to determine if in good order or if additional information is needed

Senior Retirement Plan Analyst – Defined Contribution Plans

Overview:

As a Senior Retirement Plan Analyst for M2B, your responsibilities will include all aspects of plan administration for an assigned book of business. The caseload will be comprised of plans of various sizes and complexities but be commensurate based on experience. In addition to performing day-to-day administration, the Senior Analyst would assist with the training and mentoring of junior Analysts and reports directly to the DC Manager.

Responsibilities:

Perform all applicable compliance testing (including ADP, ACP, 410(b), 401(a)(4), top-heavy) and administer retirement plans in accordance with ERISA
Consult with clients and recommend possible plan design changes
Work directly with business owners, financial advisors, and other professionals to address questions/resolve issues in a timely manner
Prepare contribution calculations, non-discrimination testing and prepare IRS Form 5500
Provide periodic valuations and contribution calculations
Support auditors for large plan audits
Understand and interpret defined contribution plan documents
Assist with oversight/review of administration prepared by junior Analysts

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in math, finance, or related field preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the retirement plan industry
Extensive background in qualified defined contribution plan administration, including ERISA and IRS/DOL rules and regulations
ASPPA credentials strongly preferred
Knowledge of Williams compliance software is required
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
