Overview:
As a Retirement Plan Analyst for M2B, your responsibilities will include all aspects of plan administration for an assigned book of business. The caseload will be comprised of plans of various sizes and complexities but be commensurate based on experience. This position works as a member of a team with a dedicated Senior Consultant.
Responsibilities:
• Review and scrub census data for accuracy and missing information
• Perform all applicable compliance testing (including ADP, ACP, 410(b), 401(a)(4), top-heavy) and administer retirement plans in accordance with ERISA
• Address testing issues and recommend possible plan design changes
• Prepare contribution projections, calculations, and non-discrimination testing – including allocation of employer contributions/forfeitures based on plan provisions and/or testing requirements
• Calculate corrective distributions for testing failures, including associated earnings, along with Form 5330
• Calculate lost earnings on late deposits of 401(k) deferrals and/or loan repayments
• Navigate various recordkeeper website to access reports and review transactions
• Reconcile plan- and participant-level transactions on an accrued basis
• Produce valuation reports and review results for accuracy before passing to Management for final review
• Prepare IRS Form 5500 and related Schedules using appropriate Government Forms software
• Support auditors for large plan audits by gathering requested reports and transaction detail
• Understand and interpret defined contribution plan documents
• Review distribution and loan requests to determine if in good order or if additional information is needed
• Research plan-related issues and corrective measures
• Work directly with Senior Consultant and other team members on a daily basis to ensure timely completion of caseload
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in math, finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the retirement plan industry
• Extensive background in qualified defined contribution plan administration, including ERISA and IRS/DOL rules and regulations
• ASPPA credentials preferred
• Knowledge of Ft. Williams compliance software is required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work and thrive in a team environment approach
